The Center has recently published the book JUST ABOUT MANAGING? - Effective Management for Voluntary Organizations and Community Groups by the British author Sandy Adirondac, which gives a detailed description of all aspects of work in a non-governmental organization. This is the first book from our new library "Training, Development, Information for NGOs", which will consist of the texts written by the members of the Team TRI, based on their own experiences, as well as of the translations of experiences of others.

At the conference "Preserving Democracy", held in Belgrade, in November last year, the Civic Initiatives gave a special Award for Democracy and Civil Society to the author of the book, Mr. Sharp. Mr. Gene Sharp visited Yugoslavia at the beginning of 2001.

HUMAN RIGHTS FOR EVERYONE - The second edition of this book was published in cooperation with the Humanitarian Right Fund. The first edition of this publication was dedicated to the 50-years Anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration on Human Rights. This short review and comment of those rights aspires to contribute to improvement of human rights and liberties in our country. It is intended for everyday use. We distributed this book during our pro-election campaign EXIT 2000.
In the publication there is a list of the most usual and/or most important situations and activities that jeopardize human rights, as well as provisions of conventions, constitutions, laws and police regulations sanctioning those offences (the right of life, ban of torturing, violation of dignity, arresting, asking for identification, police investigations, search of apartment and person, informative interview, use of tools of force, the right of criticizing, the human rights of policemen, informing the police, international protection, the codex of the police ethics.
