Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to participate in shaping, implementation and monitoring of public policies

Is one-year project conducted by Civic Initiatives in cooperation with the European Center for Non-Profit Law in Budapest - ECNL and funded by European Union.

The overall objective of this project is to contribute to the increased participation of CSOs of underrepresented groups in shaping, implementing and monitoring public policies, particularly those that affect the status of underrepresented groups. The specific objectives are enabling CSOs of underrepresented groups to advocate more effectively in public policy processes and creating conditions for an environment more conducive to citizen participation in public policy processes. The expected results are:

1) Raised awareness among all stakeholders of the significance of citizen participation in public policy processes;

2) Strengthened capacity of CSOs of underrepresented groups, which are better equipped to shape public policy impacting on their status;

3) Improved dialogue and interaction between CSOs, the State and other public policy actors, and consequently improved conditions for policy reforms relating to public participation.
