Municipality of Loznica

The municipality of Loznica is home for about 20 000 young people aged 12 to 27. According to the latest data of various nongovernmental organisations, basic problems of the young are unemployment, inability to acquire additional knowledge, safety, drug addiction and alcoholism, lack of cultural and sports events and absence of support.

Youth Office of the Loznica municipality was established in July 2007.  Basic objectives of its work are affirmation of the young and their inclusion in building and improvement of the life in Loznica, education and professional training, inclusion of the young in the cultural and sports life of the municipality, as well as providing support to the youth initiatives and projects.
Up to date, the Office has implemented various activities and also took part in initiatives of other organisations and youth groups- consultation process for development of the National Youth Strategy, the National Strategy promotion, sports events, guitar school, culture events, poetry reading, etc. During February and March 2008, in cooperation with the Civic Initiatives, the Office carried out a survey on position and needs of the youth in Loznica.

With the city status, Loznica got an opportunity to become a regional center for development and implementation of the youth policy.

Some of the Loznica Youth Office partners and associates are NGO Svetionik, Iskra, Svetlost, Forca, Fractal, Red Cross, but also youth groups like Youth Peer, Parliamentary Union of the Loznica High School Students, Center for Modern Education, primary and secondary schools in Loznica, Association of the Civic Education teachers, Culture Center, Elsa, political parties youth, culture institutions in Loznica, Center for Regionalism, Faculty of Safety, Faculty of Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Civic Initiatives have been cooperating with the Youth Office Loznica since September 2007.
