Today, young people are one of the biggest marginalized groups in our society, which is one of the greatest reasons why Civic Initiatives decided to start developing youth programmes.

Namely, since October, 2000, when new democratic authority annihilated the Ministry for Youth, apart from Province Sekreteriat, there is not any offcial body in charged of taking care of youth and creating official strategy for promoting position of young people in our society.

Deaming we cannot speak of stimulating youth participataion as long as there is no officail, institutionalized setting, which would secure necessary support to youth initiatives, from the beginig of year 2001, Youth Programme, within Civic Initiatives, actively advocates creating of a state body and state strategy upon this matter.

We have actively taken part in all discussions and initiatives which have been agitated in past few years regarding this topic, and we, uourselves, have been the initiators of many inititives. In cooperation with Federal Sekreteriat for Sport and Youth, we are the first NGO who organized a conference on this topic. The conference was called «We create the time we live in»

At the moment, Youth Programme is active in the work of the Youth Coalition of Serbia, which is acting up national campaign of advocating for youth subjects and topics on both national and local level.
