MLADGRAD

Starting from 2010 Civic Initiatives are awarding local self-governments, Youth Offices, formal and non-formal youth initiatives and organizations that have contributed in making a beter life conditions for young people in their municipality.

The MLADGRAD Award has been given to laureats who have granted a public space for a local youth initiative, made a significant contribution to the improvement of cooperation between local self-government and young people or made a general improvement of the position of young people in the local community.

As in 2010, on the occasion of the International Youth Day, 15th August 2011, Civic Initiatives organized a second MLADGRAD Awards giving ceremony which was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, ISC, USAID, OSCE, UNICEF, UNDP, IOM, ILO and GIZ.

The last year`s awardees were:

- The Municipality of Obrenovac for 1st category - Local self-government which has contributed to the improvement of the position of young people;

- The Municipality of Becej for 2nd category - Local self-government that has granted a public space for a local youth initiative;

- Forum of Civil Action "FORCA" from Pozega for 3rd category - Youth group that has contributed to the improvement of cooperation between local self-government and young people.  

Special prizes were granted to the Municipality of Backi Petrovac for contributing to the improvement of the position of vulnerable groups at the local level, and to Admir Veljovic, Coordinator of the Yout Office in Prijepolje for personal contribution to the improvement of youth position.
