Violations of basic freedoms in Serbia<\/h3>\n

26 February- 11 March 2021<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

The finding of the research of the international organization Freedom House, according to which Serbia is the country in which the most drastic decline of political rights human rights has occurred in the last decade, has received its practical confirmation in the past two weeks. A glaring example that confirms this assessment is the targeted campaign conducted by pro-government tabloids against KRIK, which directly endangers the safety of investigative journalists, as well as the targeting of civil society organizations by MPs from the ruling party in the National Assembly. The case of the public disturbance in the form of publishing photos of mutilated bodies of missing men, which were presented at the press conference by the President, the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior, also speaks in favor of the findings of Freedom House. Almost seven days after the critical event, there is still no indication of an institutional reaction by the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media.<\/p>\n
