 <\/p>\n

The ruling party’s deputies continued their dangerous campaign against civil society organizations, the media and journalists, aided by the silence of the competent institutions but also by open support from the competent parliamentary committee. On the other hand, such a practice has met with numerous condemnations from the international community, as well as a potentially new problem regarding the European Parliament’s Report on Serbia, bearing in mind that these attacks added another amendment to the resolution expected to be adopted. The Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media concluded at the session that showing controversial images on televisions with a national frequency is a measure in the public interest. This attitude of the competent institutions conditioned the withdrawal of five media associations from the Government Working Group for Safety and Protection of Journalists.<\/p>\n
