The past two weeks have been marked by numerous examples of violations of basic civil and political freedoms.<\/p>\n
The hunt for the media continues, and local media face major challenges. The portal In Media from In\u0111ija found itself the target of attacks after writing about an inappropriate gift that the municipality gave to children. The journalists of this media were insulted through the official municipal Facebook platform, and even some parents joined in putting pressure on the employees of this portal.<\/p>\n
The Security Information Agency (BIA) made another decision to expel a Russian citizen from Serbia for publicly expressing her position against the war in Ukraine. A Russian citizen, who has been living in Serbia for four years, was ordered to leave the country because the BIA assessed that she represented an “unacceptable security risk”.<\/p>\n
Attacks on the civil society continue. This time, Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107 made serious accusations against non-governmental organizations. The president of all citizens of Serbia accused certain media and non-governmental organizations of waging a “hybrid war” against Serbia. Vu\u010di\u0107 said that the artillery for waging war is the media, and that money comes, among other things, from non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n
