Escalation of violence in society is becoming more and more common. There is a lack of adequate reactions from competent authorities and institutions, and all those who think freely are at risk. Thugs beat, use explosive devices, break into offices, and there is no adequate protection. The only thing left is solidarity and support among those who share common values \u200b\u200b- the values \u200b\u200bof freedom, justice and respect for human rights.<\/p>\n
The previously observed period was marked by two attacks by hooligans and thugs. During working hours, couple of Russian citizens broke into the premises of the Krokodil Association and removed the Palestinian and Ukrainian flags. In Novi Sad, a group of masked men led by a director of one public institution attacked students of the STAV group and threw an explosive device at them. The police did not react adequately in either of these two cases. The perpetrators do not bear the consequences, which only encourages the further spread of violence.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, those who think freely suffer the consequences, such as an activist from Novi Sad who was punished for allegedly insulting a policewoman at a protest against forest cutting in \u0160odro\u0161 last year. Part of Aleksandar \u0160api\u0107’s lawsuit against journalist and writer Marko Vidojkovi\u0107 was also adopted. Pressures and intimidation lead to the creation of a society in which there is no place for dialogue, exchange of opinions and diversity. Such a society is a society without free citizens.<\/p>\n
