It took twenty days for the institutions to arrest the suspects responsible for the fall of the canopy in Novi Sad when 15 people died. During that time, 9 people were detained because they demanded a reaction from the authorities at the protests. Behind the numbers are people, people who are victims of incompetence, corruption and crime and a regime that responds to criticism with repression.<\/p>\n
Plainclothes police at protests are gradually being replaced by police in full gear. Groundless arrests and intimidation continue. The police pushed opposition MPs and councilors at the blockades of the court and prosecutor’s office in Novi Sad. On the Old Sava bridge, members of the Kreni-promeni movement, as well as four students, were forcibly detained, without a clear explanation of the reason for this. The student Pavle Cicvari\u0107 was also detained in front of the Rector’s office, and the authorities are sending a message to young people that it is not desirable to think freely.<\/p>\n
