{"id":24156,"date":"2026-09-04T11:35:26","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T09:35:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/?p=24156"},"modified":"2026-09-04T11:35:26","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T09:35:26","slug":"three-freedoms-under-the-magnifying-glass-august-21-september-03-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/en\/three-freedoms-under-the-magnifying-glass-august-21-september-03-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Freedoms Under the Magnifying Glass: August 21 \u2013 September 03, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Belgrade, September 4, 2026<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Violations of basic freedoms in Serbia<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">August 21 \u2013 September 03, 2026<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The past two weeks have been marked by pressure and threats against citizens, activists and journalists, discrimination against employees and obstruction of student organizing at higher education institutions, tensions and violence at gatherings and spying on student activists with advanced spy software.<\/p>\n<p>In U\u017eice, there was a conflict between citizens, activists, SNS supporters and police officers who gathered in the city square in front of the meeting of the Serbian Progressive Party, where the arrival of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107, was announced.At this gathering, journalists also experienced repression and being prevented from doing their work despite the accreditations they possessed.<\/p>\n<p>Advanced Pegasus spyware was found on a student&#8217;s phone and she is just one of 14 students who were spied on and tapped.
