Volunteers address him with a smile:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good afternoon.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good afternoon, the gentleman said, still looking suspiciously at volunteers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We&#8217;re volunteers from<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an organization that is organizing International volunteer camp this year; and for the realization of the camp, it is necessary that, through voluntary contributions, we collect a sufficient number of bicycles from our fellow citizens. If you have an old bike you are not using, and if you are willing to donate, we would be very grateful. Your old bike will be renovated for International volunteer camp and it will later be used for the purpose of bike rental service. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have my old bicycle and one from my grandson, who outgrew it . If it can serve? asks the gentleman.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course it can, \u00a0volunteers said.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And I&#8217;m very glad to see young people doing something like this &#8211; gentleman said with a smile on his face and went to the shed to bring these two bikes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Led by last year&#8217;s successful experience <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connecting<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> volunteers are going into realization of the International volunteer camp again this year. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connecting &#8211;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an \u00a0organization from Pancevo, dealing with career development and entrepreneurship among younger population, was created in 2013. In addition, this CSO is also promoting activism, and so far they had organized two volunteer camps: National camp in 2015 and in 2016 International volunteer camp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The first International volunteer camp in Pancevo called &#8220;Rebicycle&#8221; was held in 2016. The whole action realization lasted about five months, starting with the collection of bicycles through voluntary contributions by citizens called &#8220;Be nice, donate a bike.&#8221; Action of collecting bicycles began in April during which volunteers went to their fellow citizens and asked them if they are willing to donate an old bike that they don\u2019t need anymore. Citizens were happy to help and that created a positive energy \u00a0between volunteers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[vc_video link=&#8217;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=um3pRKEVaEg&#8217;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">The aim of the collection of bicycles was not only to ensure a sufficient number of bicycles for the realization of the camp, but also to promote cycling as a healthy and environmentally sustainable form of transport. Pancevo as a town in the flatlands region is suitable for the development of cycling, and volunteers, through chats with citizens and street actions, promoted cycling, trying to awaken the awareness of citizens about the importance of the bicycle as a mode of transport.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0After successfully conducting the campaign in which they have collected over 25 bikes, the volunteers went into the final preparations necessary for the realization of the camp: refurbishment of sport shooting premises \u00a0&#8220;Pancevo 1813&#8221;, where volunteers \u00a0were accommodated for the duration of the camp; devising a plan of activities at the camp, and promotion of the camp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0When all this was completed, the camp was able to commence. Volunteers from Serbia,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_9796.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4239 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_9796-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_9796-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_9796-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_9796-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_9796-700x1050.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.gradjanske.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_9796.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a> Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Germany, Russia, the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Japan have come on August 12 and during the next twelve days, through socializing, learning and helping, renovated 13 bicycles, transforming the old bikes into functional ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0At the end of the camp, on August 24, a promotional \u201cride a bike\u201d tour through the city streets was organized, where the international volunteers together with about seventy citizens, rode on their renovated bikes. At the end of the ride a gathering of volunteers and citizens was organized, where they were able to exchange impressions about this event.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[vc_video link=&#8217;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fqfRZGvHpPU&amp;t=3s&#8217;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0In 2017<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0volunteers are planning the realization of another International volunteer camp, where the youngsters will again work on the renovation of old bicycles. Driven by last year&#8217;s experience, they run another campaign to collect bikes &#8220;Be nice, donate a bike&#8221;, which began on April 25 2017. As a side event trainings about fundraising &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think globally, act locally<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; will be held and the first stock market of bicycles in Pancevo, &#8220;Bike stock market&#8221; will be organized.
