Belgrade, October 21, 2021-
Violations of basic freedoms in Serbia
October 22 – November 4, 2021
In the past two weeks, the trend of endangering freedoms of expression, association and assembly has continued. Convicted war criminal Dragan Vasiljkovic insulted the media, which negatively reported on the petition of his foundation seeking the release of the killer of Zoran Djindjic, while journalist Snezana Congradin experienced threats again, now from an employee of the Football Association of Serbia. The Crime and Corruption Reporting Network (KRIK) received a lawsuit for reporting from a trial, while the employees of the Clinical Center of Vojvodina received a letter forbidding public criticism of the work of this institution. Pressure continued on the authors of the podcast “Dobar los zao” and the premises of Women in Black in Belgrade were attacked.
An overview of the cases recorded during this period can be downloaded below.
