During the last reporting period, the campaign targeting journalists, students, lawyers, and other government critics continued. Certain local media outlets continue to serve as instruments of government propaganda rather than platforms for objective and accurate reporting. At the same time, institutions responsible for addressing threats and cases of targeting appear to be contributing to further pressure on citizens through court proceedings, border detentions, arrests, and other forms of institutional pressure.
