Belgrade, September 2nd, 2024 – Do you think that, as young people from Preševo and Bujanovac, people talk a lot about you but rarely talk to you? Are you tired of being seen only as a neglected group rather than the incredible resource you truly are?

Time for change. If you’re ready to step up and make a difference, join the Youth Caucus Group and take on this internship opportunity to make your voices and the voices of your peers heard.

 

What is it all about?

Civic Initiatives is launching an initiative aimed at empowering young people from Preševo and Bujanovac by providing them with a unique internship opportunity. This program will provide a group of young individuals the chance to work closely with the Parliament, government bodies and institutions, as well as prominent civil society organizations in Belgrade. By interacting with influential entities, interns will gain insights into the workings of government institutions, help shape policies, raise awareness, and promote initiatives that benefit young people in general. We believe that real, impactful solutions come from effective planning, which in turn relies on meaningful youth representation. With proper youth representation and involvement in decision-making, and a proactive and inclusive approach to addressing youth issues, we can work together and across different sectors to make this country a better place for all of us.

 

What will the interns be tasked with and benefit from this internship opportunity?

  • Gain hands-on experience in legislative and governmental processes.
  • Collaborate with Members of Parliament and other officials to advocate for policies that address the needs of young people in Preševo and Bujanovac.
  • Engage with peers and local communities to gather feedback, raise awareness, and support various initiatives.
  • Receive guidance and support from experienced mentors in their appointed institutions.
  • Meet amazing people in Belgrade, live and grow together

 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals from the municipalities of Bujanovac and Preševo, aged 20 to 35, who are interested in the rule of law and are either recent graduates or currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree. While we encourage all young people to apply, regardless of their primary language, please note that the work at the institutions will be conducted in Serbian or English. Therefore, knowledge of either of these languages is requested to participate in this program.

 

Internship Details:

Location: Belgrade

Duration: From 2 months up to 5 months, allowing flexibility in determining the period that best suits your needs and schedules.

Start Date: From October 2024, flexible depending on your availability.

Free accommodation in the heart of Belgrade

Transport expenses
Internship allowance of 500 GBP gross monthly

Capacity-building activities and networking events, allowing interns to build connections with professionals and peers in their field.

 

How to apply?

This call is open for young people from the municipalities of Bujanovac and Preševo. To apply, please fill out the questionnaire available below by October 15, 2024.

Application Process:

Complete and submit the questionnaire by the deadline.

Applications will be reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted for interviews to assess suitability and fit for the program. Additionally, candidates skills and interests will be matched with relevant institutions to ensure a suitable placement.

Interns will be appointed and will complete the internship according to a pre-established program plan.
