Elections Under the Magnifying Glass

Civil initiatives will continuously monitor and document cases of violations of freedom of expression, assembly, and association throughout the pre-election campaign. We will draw attention to all shortcomings and unlawful actions during the election campaign, including cases involving the misuse of public resources and public office for campaigning purposes. We will report on all these issues to the interested public on a weekly basis.

The past seven days have been marked by Aleksandar Vučić’s resignation as President of the Republic, the process of granting pardons to 49 individuals without following the legally prescribed procedure, the identification of a large number of phantom voters or actual voters registered at phantom addresses, bot attacks targeting the media, violence and incidents in the streets of Belgrade and Novi Sad, as well as a highly tense pre-election atmosphere.
