Violations of basic freedoms in Serbia

In the 11 – 24 November reporting period, there was a continuation of grave violations of basic freedoms in Serbia.

Journalists from the research portal VOICE were denied accreditation before the local parliament session in Bač on November 14, 2022, which they wanted to cover, and the local parliament made this decision with the justification that “space was limited”.

The Vicinity Chronicles portal of the European Fund for the Balkans and the European Movement in Serbia was the target of a series of hacker attacks, despite the measures taken and the regular maintenance of the website. The European Movement in Serbia linked the attacks to the texts published on this portal by authors from all the countries of the Western Balkans.

The Youth Center CK13 is facing eviction from the Black House, the facility where they work, after the first-instance verdict of the Basic Court in Novi Sad, and according to the lawsuit of the “Kuda.org” association.
