During the latest reporting period, multiple separate incidents involving violations of the rights to expression, assembly, and association were recorded. At the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, the election process for the student parliament was assessed as compromised, while in Novi Sad, a University professor suffered a physical assault due to a “Students Win” sticker. In Inđija, citizens and activists were intercepted in the very center of the city, while in Lajkovac, principals are once again being dismissed for political reasons. Journalist associations are warning of deteriorating safety and pressures on the freedom of expression, while almost simultaneously, SNS officials are insulting N1 television journalists.
