Civic Initiatives celebrated their 18th birthday

LogoOn Wednesday, October 15th, Civic Initiatives celebrated their 18th year of work.

First, a debate titled ”Civil Society: The New Mobilization” was held in Sava Centar, in which Miljenko Dereta, Zarko Puhovski and Milan Podunavac participated as the founders of Civic Initiatives, and many other important people from the civil sector joined the discussion.
Many questions about the new position of the civil society were raised, mainly those regarding new activism, re-mobilization and support from citizens.

Afterwards, there was a birthday cocktail party at the Top of the Hub restaurant, where friends, associates and supporters of the Civic Initiatives, who have been following our work during these 18 years gathered. The guests watched a film about the 18 years of CI, enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and socialized.

Civic Initiatives were founded in 1996, with the idea to strengthen the civil society through education, promoting democracy and democratic values, as well as support for civil activism. Civic Initiatives through their programs, projects and activities continue to work on their vision – a society of equal and active citizens, independently making decisions about their lives in a democratic, state of law, with full respect of human rights.
