Belgrade, August 13, 2020

Although the state of emergency in Serbia was lifted on May 6, given the large number of violations, Civic Initiatives will continue to monitor the situation in the field of all human rights in the coming period.
The past period was marked by the appearance of list of 20 individuals and 37 civil society organizations and the media in relation to which the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering at the Ministry of Finance requested insight into all their transactions in the last year, in order to explore doubts about possibilities of their participation in the money laundering process or terrorism financing. What is common to almost all of them is that in their work they were critical of the current regime, and it is clear that such an attempt at unfounded control is a direct attack on the freedom of association and information.
