01 Nov Constitutional meeting of Women’s Rural Network
Novi Sad, 1st of November, 2016. – Women’s Rural Network of Vojvodina gathered on 22nd of October in Novi Sad, 29 delegates from 14 rural women’s associations from Vojvodina on the occasion of the constituent meeting with aim to establish a network.
Vision, mission and the founding goals of the Women’s Rural Network were presented at the meeting. This network was established with the aim of improving the position of women and young people in the rural areas. It is considered that women, through the newly established Network, will be able to communicate easier with local governments and authorities at the regional, as well as the national level. Women’s Rural Network of Vojvodina exhanced examples of best practices, which will contribute to the economic empowerment of women living in rural areas.
In the further course of the meeting, members of the association have actively participated in discussion and expressed their experiences so far. Further through the meeting, the Rules of Procedure of the Women’s Rural Network was adopted. Through the newly established Network representatives of local associations will communicate easier with local governments and authorities at the provincial/ regional, and national level.
Conclusion of the constituent meeting was that the network must operate as a common, visible, transparent organization, because, according to participants, “it will be easier to reach the goal”. Also, there must be unity, solidarity and equitable sharing of both duties, and success.
