TACSO with young people on speed dating

Belgrade, 28th March, 2017 – Thirty seven youth organizations and organizations for young people from several cities of Serbia participated today on “Speed dating: youth organizations and EU funds” event held in EU Info center in Belgrade. At the event – speed dating – representatives of nine EU programs currently present in Serbia attended, as potential donors. There were also representatives of Ministry of youth and sports, Serbian youth Umbrella organization and EU Info center. Speed dating was organized by EU Info center in collaboration with EU Delegation in Serbia, under the framework of their joint campaign for young people called: “Europe for you”. In the welcome words, head of the EU Delegacy in Serbia, Shtefan Hudolin expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of young people, which is called on to be actively involved in the reform processes in the EU by Serbia.

“You are absolutely necessary to us; we need you in Serbia, in the region and in the EU. We need you to participate and be active and proactive.” – he told representatives of youth organizations. Hudolin has encouraged them not to be disappointed and not to give up if it happens to one of their projects would not be accepted, but to continue to participate in all the EU is doing in Serbia.
Representative of the Ministry of youth and sports, Marija Petronijević said that the Ministry each year publishes the open calls for young people and announced that it will soon be launched a new open call where the Ministry will co-finance already granted projects.
The Umbrella organization of youth in Serbia, a partner of the event, and General secretary of the KOMS, Nina Živanović  pointed out that it is the most independent representative body of young people in Serbia, which exists for six years in an effort to respond to their needs.
On 11 tables, in speed dating, participated representatives of the following funds and programs of the EU: Erasmus+, Creative Europe, Media program, Europe instrument for democracy and human rights (EIDHR), Civil Society Facility (CSF), COSME (Program for small and medium-sized enterprises), Horizont 2020, Europe for citizens and Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organizations (TACSO). They have shared with youth organizations which one of their vacancies are available now, which are in progress and which are planned and answered their questions.
The event included 37 organizations from seven cities including organizations from Prijepolje, Tutin, Niš, Novi Sad, Jagodina, Smederevo.
